Helen Mumford Sole has had a successful career as a senior executive of both large and startup companies. She was CEO of LexisNexis UK, SVP of Gartner (Europe, Middle East and Africa), and co-founder and COO of Wentworth Research - a VC-backed startup that was acquired by Gartner. She was also CEO of two other startups, CIO of a GE Capital company, and held various roles in Financial Services companies, and consultancies including Ernst & Young and Andersen Consulting. This high performance background gives Helen great credibility and positioning in the minds of the senior executives she coaches as they know that she understands their context and the associated issues and opportunities.
In her corporate life Helen encountered both good and bad coaching but she never experienced great coaching. She searched for a coach who has the credibility and skills to help her reach the top of her game and stay there, someone who understands what goes on at the highest level and knows what it takes to maximize talent and achieve ambition. In short, someone who can work with the highest achievers and still improve their performance. She didn’t find this person, so after maternity leave for her 3rd child, she decided this would be her next career.
For 4 years, Helen devoted herself to learning everything she could about coaching for performance and success. She qualified as an Executive Coach at the highest possible level at Columbia University, and gained certificates in several other schools of coaching. She is a Neuro-Linguistic Programming practitioner as well as being a qualified Ericksonian hypnotist. Helen is certified in Myers Briggs, Birkman, Emotional and Social Competency (ESCI), Emotional Quotient (EQ-i), and in Workplace Culture (CWQ). Helen is also a Reiki Master/Instructor which she studied in order to understand how to manage stress productively.
Helen lives and works in Manhattan where she has a thriving practice in Executive Performance Coaching and Stress Management. Helen’s clients are senior and high performing executives from Global 500 companies, fast growing startups, and federal government. They include Coca Cola Enterprises, Gartner, Heidrick and Struggles, Department of Transport and other private clients.
Helen’s Bachelors and Masters degrees are from the University of Oxford and she has been published in two award-winning coaching books. Helen is a trustee of Merlin, a global non-profit delivering healthcare services to the world’s most vulnerable people, and a Fellow of the Rosemont Institute for Transformational Leadership.
